Remember making torn paper collages in grade school? There was something so satisfying about tearing, arranging and pasting bits of colorful paper. Working on this had that same feel. Perhaps in part because this was one of those projects that I was not sure where or what I was creating at the start. One thing just led to another!
After mounting the collage on a black base I added Cotton Paper flowers
and Washi Tape doubled on itself to make faux ribbon for the handle and the banners on the bottom.
A couple of tips for recreating:
- Spread a thin layer of Crystal Effects on the Window Sheet before sandwiching the tissue. The Crystal Effects dries perfectly clear.
- Use Staz-On Ink to stamp on the acetate.
- Seven layers of Cotton Paper makes a nice full flower. Lay the Cotton Paper on a piece of plain typing paper and punch through both pieces. Makes punching the Cotton Paper so easy!
- For the bottom banners cut a piece of Washi Tape twice the length of the your desired finished banner. Stick the tape to the bottom front of the project, then fold it on itself finishing with a bit stuck to the back of the project. Then use a sharp scissors to snip some of the banners on an angle and notch a few others.
