Carnival of Colors Blog Hop

Welcome to the Carnival of Colors Blog Hop presented by My Inky Friends!  We have a rainbow of projects that are just so fun!

Stampin' Up has recently released a whole new set of colors both in the core color collection and in the In-color collection.  There are so many to chose from it hard to know which to play with first.  It is like going to an amusement park and trying to decide which attraction to ride.   You know you will eventually go on them all but you have pick just one to start with.     Luckily our carnival includes lots of colors and since we have our blogs linked in a circle you don't have to choose... you can just jump in anywhere!

Petal Pink is the lovely color for my carnival attraction.   I think it is tends toward a light salmon color... quite different from a true pink.  The tranquility of the color made me think of the Artfully Folded stamp set.

I used a fold idea from one of the very first card classes I attended when I was beginning to explore stamping as inspiration.  (I still have the card.  Seems like a long time ago... there have been a lot of cards made since then :)

It is a little different style in that the Petal Pink background is a quarter sheet of cardstock and the Very Vanilla layer is the hinged part for writing on.   (Measurements are 4-3/4" X 7", scored at 3-1/2")   My photos are not up to par for this post as my camera is acting up.  I used my phone and the Very Vanilla looks white.  The actual ones look more muted.

Both of these cards are done with stamping only-- no Designer Series Paper.  I had planned to add some Petal Pink sequins and other embellishments to these but ended up liking the simplicity of them just as is.

Well it is time to hop on to next color attraction!  Holly has used the beautiful Balmy Blue for a sweet baby card and Rhonda has the dreamy Soft Sea Foam in her delicate projects.

  1. I totally thought the floral piece was DSP! Beautiful cards. Love that fun fold idea. I'll have to try that. The petal pink with the granite gray is such a color sophisticated combo. Just beautiful together.
