Stamp Review Crew: 2024-2026 In Colors

The Crew has something fun and new for you on this hop!  We are featuring the new 2024 - 2026 In Colors.  We are excited to share our ideas with you and hope you enjoy the hop!

https://stampreviewcrew.blogspot.com/2017/10/beautiful-you.html

Our basement is decorated in 1960's space age style with turquoise and pink walls.  The new In-colors Summer Splash and Pretty in Pink are a bit brighter version of our color scheme.   Also Tom's latest creative endeavor has been to build a diorama complete with a space ship inside a 1950's TV.     So when I saw the two new stamp sets Tune In and Flying By I knew I needed to try combining these for a fun card just for him!

I started by stamping the alien spaceship and then masking it.  I then stamped the paper airplane vertically over the mask to make the beam of light under the spaceship.  It fit just perfectly in the opening of the TV!  Though you can not see it in the picture I placed a piece of clear window sheet behind the TV opening before popping it up on dimensionals on top of the alien image.

I kept this card pretty simple.  It took me far less time to make than it did for Tom to complete his project! It is just in a temporary spot in the basement now.  His next project is to make a stand for the TV.

Our stamp set this time is the very pretty Enduring Beauty set.    I chose a simple two color palette of Pretty Peacock and Crumb Cake.  First I stamped the image on Shimmery White Cardstock, colored select portions with Stampin' Blends and fussy cut a few flowers and leaves.

Next I had fun with the background!   Stamping the grid image from Notes of Nature (tone-on-tone and stamped off once)  then sewing the ribbons and trims in place and finally sewing some extra lines -  some with the sewing machine threaded and some without.   I purposely left the thread tails untrimmed.

This is my little craft room sewing machine.  It is so cute- just 10 inched wide!   I use it only for paper as the needle dulls when stitching on paper and changing the needle on my regular sewing machine is kind of a pain.

I'm so glad you have visited today!  Please click on the buttons below to see more ideas for using the Enduring Beauty stamp set.  Up next is Heidi Baks - she always has creative little details in her projects that are delightful!

Stamp Review Crew: Sale-a-bration 2024 #2

Hello and welcome to a Stamp Review Crew Bonus Hop!  We have regular blog hops the first and third Mondays of the month but are adding an extra hop this month!  We are departing from our usual format of highlighting one stamp set and instead are showcasing the current Sale-a-bration selections.

I have two cards made with the super cute Trusty Toolbox Designer Series Paper.

First is a humorous birthday card with a phrase that I added using the Mini Alphabet dies.

Inside is a middle layer attached to an accordion fold with the fussy cut saw popped up on dimensionals.

It is fun that the Designer Series Paper from the front of the card peeks out on inside.

Card base:  Cut 4 1/4" x 11".  Score at 3 1/2", 4 1/2", and 5 1/2".  Accordion fold and seal with adhesive.
Front DSP panel:  4" x 5-1/4"  Middle panel:  3-1/2" x 5-1/8"  Back panel: 3" x 4-3/4"

The second card front is CASED from the Sale-a-bration flyer.
The drawers are popped up on Dimensionals.  I ran a black Stampin' Marker
along the edges of the handcut tools to make them stand out.

Inside I accordion folded a 12 inch piece of the ruler patterned paper

and added the words from the Perennial Postage stamp set.

Stamp Review Crew: Notes of Nature

Hello and welcome to the latest Stamp Review Crew Blog Hop!   Our international crew highlights one Stampin' Up stamp set on each blog hop.  Hops are the first and third Mondays of the month and are a great way to get lots of ideas for using a set!

Our stamp set this time is the Notes of Nature set.  This set reminded me of my first class as a college freshman.  It was a very hands-on entomology class with a wonderful professor.   We spent lots of time outdoors collecting specimens and making notes in our field journal.    Fun memories!

The coordinating dies, cork dots, and faux leather trim add lots of textures.

The card front is scored 1-1/4" from the edge and folded back
so the DSP peeks out on the inside edge.

Stamp Review Crew: Sale-a-bration 2024

Hello and welcome to a Stamp Review Crew Bonus Hop!  We have regular blog hops the first and third Mondays of the month but are adding an extra hop this month!  We are departing from our usual format of highlighting one stamp set and instead are showcasing the current Sale-a-bration selections.

I have recently updated my video setup from my old iPad on a tripod to using my iPhone with a light stand and an arm extension.   It has taken a bit to get used to it after using my old setup for so long.   That got me to wondering just when I did my first video.   It was 10 years ago!    It was kind of fun to see what that project was.   It was a Christmas ornament and I thought I would make a Valentine decoration based on that original idea.

I used two Sale-a-bration items:  the pretty Most Adored specialty paper and the Heartfelt Hellos stamp set.   The squares and the sentiment are die cut with the Stylish Shapes dies.   (I used a retired punch for the hearts but I think the heart die from the Adoring Hearts Bundle would work great for this.)  I cut five squares, five red hearts and five white hearts just like I did in the original project.

Here is my very first video reposted :)
