The hummingbirds have returned with the flourish. We have several pairs that fight for the right to drink from our feeder. They dive-bomb each other as they are feeding and zip back and forth over the area. These cute feisty little things were my inspiration for this birthday card.
The flower is colored with Coastal Cabana and Daffodil Delight Blendabilities. I have been pleasantly surprised that the Coastal Cabana markers look great with a variety of other blues. Here the flourish and hummingbird wings are Lost Lagoon- a new 2014 In-Color.
The punch art hummingbird is created with the Bird Builder punch and Elegant Butterfly punch.
I thought it would be helpful to show how I trimmed the bird punch as I had to experiment a bit to get the shape of the hummingbird body right. The tail becomes the hummingbird beak.

Trim away the tummy and head portions. Use the tail piece to create the beak. |
