Faceted Basket Projects and Video Tutorial

The basket I designed using the Pyramid Pals Thinlits is the featured tutorial on Splitcoaststampers this week!
There are several variations:
A basket
A favor box
A clutch purse

Here a couple others:
Birthday theme

Classic blue purse

Baby theme
I came up with this idea about a year ago.  In making it multiple times have discovered some tips and tricks for simplifying the construction and using paper with different patterns.  This updated tutorial includes those additional suggestions.

Stamp Review Crew: Lift Me Up Edition

Hello and welcome to the latest Stamp Review Crew Blog Hop!   This session is focusing on the super popular stamp set Lift Me Up.  Come fly around the world as our international crew showcases this light and happy set.

This set is so fun to use in conjunction with the Carried Away paper that is a free Saleabration item. I used the paper as a jumping off point for this 12 X 12 decor piece.
The Layering Squares Thinlits were a huge help in making the backgrounds.  I used a variety of sizes and a few scallops too.

Then came the fun part of deciding what stamping and embellishing to do.
Selective inking of portions of sentiments with markers

Trimming a doily to create a frame

Using thinlits to paper piece the balloon

Stamp Review Crew: Sunshine Sayings Edition

Welcome to the Stamp Review Crew's latest blog hop.  The SRC is an international group of Stamping' Up demonstrators who present a bimonthly blog hop featuring one stamp set.

We are under the direction and awesome coordination of Tanya Boser.   Tanya is amazing!  She keeps us all organized and on track and does so with grace and humor.  Not only that--she is incredibly talented and recently received the distinction of being asked to join the elite Stampin' Up Artisian Team!   She is one awesome friend and today's card is for her.  (I do hope that she looks in her mailbox before checking the blog posts as I was a bit late getting this mailed out!)

The Crew is featuring the Sunshine Sayings stamp set.  It is one of my favorite go-to word sets and can be combined with so many others stamps.  I couldn't resist using the Saleabration set Hey, Chick for Tanya's card.
Tanya's cards always include a fun decorated interior that carries over the theme of the card front. I used the matching Party Animal Designer Series Paper and Washi Tape on both of mine.   I masked a few of the phrases to get the wording I wanted.  A bunch of greetings for a person who does it all! Tanya lives in Minnesota and as a fellow Northerner I know a bit a sunshine is a welcome sight on these cold winter days:)
