Stamp Review Crew: Sweet Little Stockings Edition

Hello and welcome to the latest Stamp Review Crew Blog Hop!   Our international crew highlights one Stampin' Up stamp set on each blog hop.  Hops are the first and third Mondays of the month and are a great way to get lots of ideas for using a set!   Click on the banner below to see a complete list of Crew members and see all the past hops which we keep active.  So many creative things to see and enjoy!

We are using the Sweet Little Stockings stamp set for this edition.  Our hop is small this time around but the projects are all so sweet!

For my first project I used the Disappearing Nine Patch technique to make the background.  I think the cute little Corgi is adorable with his Santa beard!

It is a bit hard to see from the front but the sentiment, stars and Christmas packages are popped up giving this plenty of dimension.   Those little holly leaves and berries are so tiny!  I had a bit of a mishap when making this as I dropped the itty bitty holly leaf die and it bounced into my craft room wastebasket.  Of course my wastebasket was filled to the brim with all kinds of tiny paper scraps... I was not sure I would ever find it but I did!

My next project requires a bit of explanation.   I made a pot holder for each of our three kids for Christmas.  (Hopefully none of them will see this blog post before Christmas day!)  I picked a  fabric that I knew each would like.   I had fun pulling out scraps of fabric to go with the main fabric.  (Just like my paper scraps I save all my little scraps of fabric too!)

When it was time to wrap the potholders the Sweet Little Stockings set was just perfect!  Can you guess which potholder is in which package?

Thanks so much for hopping with us and have a Very Merry Christmas!

Clever Cats Birthday Card

Finally I have my computer and phone on the same page and am able to upload photos again.  Nice to be back to a bit of blogging!

Of course I could not resist adding the Clever Cats stamp set to my Kitty Stamp collection.  The artist surely must have kitties of their own as these cats have a lot of character!    We had a big fluffy cat who loved to try to sit in teeny little boxes.  Always good for a laugh and lots of picture taking.

Although the Clever Cat stamp set is primarily a Halloween themed set it is great for other occasions too.
I omitted the word Halloween from the sentiment by selectively inking with Stampin' Write Markers.

This fluffy kitty is cut out and perched on top of the window cut with the Picture This die.

The "Birthday" is borrowed from the Well Said stamp set.
I used the Stamparatus to get the words positioned and the kitty exactly in the corner.

This card fits in a No 10 (business) size envelope.  The card front is 4" X 9-1/4".
