Stamp Review Crew: Buffalo Check Edition

Time for a new edition of the Stamp Review Crew's Blog Hop!  We are changing it up slightly this session as we are featuring a single background stamp rather than a stamp set.   Just wait until you see the wide range of ways Crew Members have used this wonderful classic patterned stamp!

As always, we have our blog permanently linked so you can enjoy this and all past hops at anytime.   If you click on the banner below you will be taken to the SRC website with details of crew members and a full listing of past stamps the "Crew has reviewed"!

Buffalo Check is such a great classic pattern.   It can be rustic, sleek, subtle or bold depending on color and tone choices.   I used this stamp recently for a whimsical card set with brighter Fall/Halloween colors on a light colored background.    The effect was fun and energetic.

I thought this time I would go for a more stately look with dark ink on a rich colored background.  I experimented and found the lovely combo of Blackberry Bliss ink stamped on Rich Razzleberry paper.
The classic colors and plaid made me think of a designer purse.
I would love to have one IRL in these colors!
Of course the purse needed a few things to go inside...
Mini composition notebook and Hershey Nuggets (YUM!)
I finished this little gift set off with a very simple card in keeping with the minimalist theme.
TIP:  Use a thin line of Tombo Multipurpose Glue to adhere the  Braided Linen Trim
Oh I do wish I had more time to create with this lovely stamp!  Since I do not (sigh) I will be looking longingly at all the creative goodness of the my crew members!  Please click on the buttons below to check them out!

We have a beautiful stamp set to show off this session.  The Country Home stamp set is part of the lovely designer suite Country Lane.  Whether you have just the stamp set or the complete suite you will have a bundle of ideas once you click through the Crew's creations.

Growing up on farm, harvest was the highlight of year.  I still drive out of my way to find fields of ripe wheat and always am delighted when I see combines harvesting the crop.  I really enjoyed making this harvest themed set!

Blackberry Bliss is one of my all time favorite Stampin' Up colors and I am really enjoying that it is prominently featured in the Holiday catalog.   I love the rich color!   That fact that we now have a Blackberry Bliss Stampin' Blend makes me happy.   I have been using it for Halloween projects too!
I have a tutorial coming soon for making this wreath!
The Braided Linen Trim reminds me of stalks of wheat.
My past tutorial for making this mitered frame can be found HERE
TIP:  After coloring the milk can with Smoky Slate Stampin' Blends
use the Color Lifter to distress a few areas .

Thanks so very much for joining us for this Country Home Blog Hop.  Please click on the buttons below to see more of the Crew's creativity.

2018 Holiday Showcase Blog Hop

Welcome to the Inky Friends blog hop!  We have a great line up showcasing new stamps and products from the brand new Stampin' Up Holiday catalog.

I am so happy to have had a chance to stamp a few cards with the adorable line art set Trick or Tweet.

Instead of using DSP, I made my own with the great background stamp Buffalo Check.  I applied an oval mask over the stamped images before stamping the background.

Of course if there is a kitty stamp you know I have to have it!

Each card is a single layer with the exception of the tiny cut out pumpkin.  I know it is probably silly but one product that I am delighted to have is the itty bitty Mini Stampin' Dimensionals! They are the best thing to be able to add a little extra to a card by elevating a tiny image.  The new colors of the Stampin' Blends so fun too!  Blackberry Bliss is definitely my favorite... such a rich deep purple!

On this last card I did a little extra sponging of some additional inks on the background.   I started with Crushed Curry, then added some Pumpkin Pie and Blackberry Bliss.

Thank you for hopping along with My Inky Friends today!   Please click on the buttons below to continue on your merry way!
