Winter Holiday Blog Hop -2013

Welcome to Stampin' Addicts Winter Holiday Blog Hop!  Fellow Stampin' Addict members have teamed up to bring you some mighty fine and mighty fun projects.   We have each chosen a wintery item from the Holiday catalog.  It may seem a bit early for winter crafting but whether you are a plan-ahead crafter or a last minute work-best-under pressure type you will want to hop through the blogs for lots of great ideas.  And since we have our blogs permanently linked you can come back any time for a refresher!

My projects feature the Holly Jolly Greetings Simply Sent Kit.  Now this kit is beautiful on its own.  It has printed heavyweight 5" X 7" cards that fold into envelopes.  Inside are diecut photo corners so you just slip a photo in, write a greeting, and tuck it in the pocket.  It even has a lovely printed area on the front of the envelope and stickers to seal it closed.   I love it just the way it is but I also love some other things you can do with it!

My first idea was to turn it into a little winter cottage pop-up card. The snowman is stamped on an acetate sheet and embossed with Iridescent Ice powder so he is sparkly.  This all folds up to mailed.
Next I combined two cards to make a table decor panel.  The photos slip in and out of the photo corners so you can change them for a different look.  These are old family photos and that little one in the fuzzy red snowsuit is... (yup, you guessed it) me!
Lastly, I turned one into a purse that holds regular-size cards and envelopes.  Because the fold-up cards in the kit are 5" x 7" and are so heavy they work wonderfully for this.  The cards to go inside are all stamped with the Snow Day set also from the Holiday catalog.  This purse easily holds them plus the envelopes.
And the address area becomes a perfect place to write the name of the recipient so you have gift, packaging and tag all in one!
Thank you so much for joining us on this winter catalog tour.  I will have directions for each of these projects this week so stop back for all the details!

You can hop both forward or backward from here.  The talented ladies on either side of me are using two elegant stamp sets from the Holiday catalog.
