Inky Friends 2017-2018 Annual Catalog Blog Hop

Welcome to the first ever Inky Friends Blog Hop!  Our group will be hosting occasional "special event" blog hops with a different focus each time.  For our first blog hop, each member has chosen a stamp set from the new 2017-2018 Stampin' Up annual catalog.

The hardest part was picking which new set to use:)  I settled on the Sunshine in My Pocket set with the matching Pocket Framlits.

I recently reorganized my sewing room and have been dreaming of some quilts I would like to sew. I guess that has carried over to my stamping as the first thing that came to mind for the Sunshine in My Pocket set was a quilt card.
Cutting these with the framelits made the corners match perfectly.  Probably the easiest "Y seam" quilt I will ever make!

The Stitched Shapes Framelits also coordinate nicely- I used one to die cut the sentiment.

For the next card I tried a new color combo- Flirty Flamingo and Tranquil Tide with Whisper White.
The pocket is open at the top to tuck in even more goodies.
Well thanks so much for taking time to check out our new Inky Friends blog hop! We will have our blogs permanently linked so you can always click thorough at any time.   We have more hops planned for the future that you won't want to miss!

Next up is Sara's sweet projects with "Sharing Sweet Thoughts".  Or you can hop the other direction to Cindy's terrific ideas for "Oh So Eclectic".  If you happen to get lost click HERE to find the complete list of hop participants.

Stamp Review Crew: Labeler Alphabet Edition

Welcome to the Stamp Review Crew Blog Hop!  Join us on a trip around the world as our international team shows many new ideas for this session's stamp set.
This time we are focusing on a stamp set that makes personalizing a project so easy... the Labeler Alphabet.

I have had a crossword style project in mind for a while but never seemed to get to it.  The Crew's focus on this set was just the nudge I needed to actually get it done!
There are online crossword generators that could be used to do this but since I had in mind the way I wanted it to look I used graph paper to pencil in our names.  I only had to play around with a couple of layouts before I got one I liked.   Stamping was really easy with the clear photopolymer stamps!
I used a combination of Stampin' Dimensionals and Foam Adhesive Strips to mount the elements so this has a lot of depth and pretty shadows.

Now that I have made one and found out it really does not take that long I think these would make really neat personalized gifts for others.

So glad you hopped by today!  Please click on the links below to see more of the Crew's projects using this fun alphabet set.

Love You to Pieces

I reorganized my sewing room (wow was it in need of that!) and now I will hopfully be sewing a bit more.   Having everything organized is very motivational.

As I was working I had to stop and look at my collection of retired Stampin' Up fabrics.  They are so pretty!  I wanted to make something right away but I made myself finish all the organizing first-- work before play:)

My first little project was a potholder for my sweet sister-in-law's birthday using the Stampin' Up Springtime Vintage fabric.  I sent it with a quilt card I made a while back- I have been waiting for the perfect person to send it to!

Christmas of 2013 I gave her a basket made with this same fabric.  It has only taken me three and a half years to make the matching potholder!

That basket has been one of my most pinned projects.  (Details about the basket can be found HERE.)
This has been a post with all retired things but I am patting myself on the back for getting organizing done and am happy to rekindle a love of sewing!
