Pyramid Pals Basket and Purse

Getting the tutorial for my Pyramid Pals Basket from the Stamp Review Crew Blog Hop took me a bit longer than I had hoped.  One good thing though is that in the meantime I realized the basket could be flattened to make a really cute purse.  And then I got on a roll and made a favor box version too.  So this is Three-For-the-Price-of-One tutorial.   (Oh and check out the ribbon on the first project...watch the video to see how easy it is!)

Stamp Review Crew: 2016 Sale-a-bration Edition

The Stamp Review Crew is doing something a bit different for this Blog Hop.  Usually each crew member creates a project with the same stamp set.  This time we are using any of the products from the 2016 Sale-a-bration catalog so it will be fun to see what everyone chooses to do!

Actually I could not pick just one... I have three SAB products in this little spring set.

The card is a very simple 4" X 4" layout using Wildflower Fields Designer Series Paper and Honeycomb Happiness stamps.  

The petite basket is made with the limited-time offered Perfectly Artistic DSP.  Oh my goodness I LOVE this paper!!  I have a ton of ideas for this lovely DSP and have added a few to my stash.  

The basket is made with the Pyramid Pals Thinlit Dies.   It SO VERY cute and really simple to do.

It has a unique shape which is a bit hard to capture in one shot so I photographed it from a couple of different angles.

I hope to have a video tutorial for this soon.  It one of those projects that is easier to demonstrate than explain!  EDIT:  Here is the tutorial!

Stamp Review Crew: Festival of Trees Edition

Merry Christmas everyone!  I am so happy you are joining us for the The Stamp Review Crew Festival of Trees Blog Hop.  The SRC is a group of international Stampin' Up demonstrators who do bi-monthly reviews of a chosen stamp set.  It is a great way to see a wide variety of ideas for a single stamp set.

My goal was to come up with a non-holiday card using this stamp set.  I was also curious what the coordinating Tree Punch would look like if the points were placed tip-to-tip.  My end result was a color wheel card.  I thought this would be fun for the art-loving friends in my life.

Tips to recreate:

• Lay out nine stamp pads and a Stampin' Scrub.
• Stamp the stylized tree image nine times on Whisper White cardstock cleaning the stamp between each color.
• Punch each tree with the Tree Punch.  Trim away the trunk.
• Adhere the images tip-to-tip on a folded Whisper White cardstock base with the bottom of one tree at the fold line.
• Trim the cardstock base to create the shaped card.  
• Color the sentiment with markers starting with the lightest colors and slightly overlapping the adjacent color. Stamp on Whisper White cardstock. 
• Diecut the sentiment and a piece of Basic Black cardstock with the heart from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlit set.
• Add a "bow" of Baker's Twine.

Home for Christmas Gift Tin

Turquoise and red together make one of my favorite Christmas color combos- bright and festive yet a bit non-traditional.   And of course I love anything retro so the vintage-y Santa images of the Home For Christmas DSP got center stage on this gift tin.

The glitter ribbon is a sneak peek of a new product coming in the 2016 Occasions Stampin' Up catalog.  There are some pretty spring things that coordinate with it in the catalog that goes live in January but I thought it was merry match for this project.

The tags on the top and side are stamps from the Merry Everything set.

Tis the season... for babies!  Both family and friends have welcomed beautiful little ones recently.  The Cherry On Top Design Series Paper Stack has petite patterns just perfect for bolder colored baby cards.

Stamp Review Crew: Jingle All the Way Edition

Welcome to the Stamp Review Crew Blog Hop!  This session the crew is reviewing the Jingle All the Way stamp set.  As always we have our blogs permanently linked so you can always return anytime the mood strikes!

The best thing about Christmas is having all my kids home!   We are counting the days until we are together again.  It has been a year since we have all been in one place at the same time.   My kids always look forward to a white Christmas too especially as some of them live in areas that get no snow.  So as I was mulling over what to make for this hop I decided to make a snowy scene with the "home for Christmas" sentiment.

I used the Sleigh Ride Egdelits to cut the top of three strips of Whisper White cardstock, rolled them into tubes nesting one inside the other and put them in a purchased snow globe.  I embossed the sentiment with gold embossing powder, attached it to the base and added a line of 1/8" gold ribbon at the top.  This pretty shiny gold ribbon perfectly matches the shine of the gold embossing giving a touch of elegance to this simple project.

Stamp Review Crew: Happy Scenes Edition

Welcome to the latest edition of the Stamp Review Crew's Blog Hop!  This time we are showing off the Happy Scenes stamp set.  For our hops Crew members always have their blogs linked so you can return at any time.  You can also see the complete blog roll on the our Stamp Review Crew Website.

Halloween Peeps are all rage.  They are cute on their own but even cuter when incorporated into a hand-stamped display.

This little ghosty sits on top of a box made with the Gift Box Punch Board.  He is a bit top heavy so I filled the box with Candy Corn.  (Just makes it even more yummy!)

 Here is a closer look at the box and tag.

For the tombstones I made a simple pocket and added the decorated label at the back.

Here are a few tips for re-creating these:

• For the Peeps Ghost- For the box use a 6" X 6" inch piece of Designer Series Paper and follow the directions for the first box listed on the Gift Box Punch Board instructions.
• Stamp the spider web, then fold the box on the scorelines.  Note where the tabs cross and use the 1/8" Hole Punch to make an opening for lollipop stick.  This took a little bit of trial and error at first.  
• Candy Corn in the box gives it weight and helps the stick to remain upright.
• The tag framelit is from the Curvy Keepsake Box Framelit set.  Stamp the Boo first,  add the Washi tape then run it through the Big Shot.  
• Use the tip of our Paper Snips to make a small hole in the center of a Spider Web Doily before sliding it onto the lollipop stick.

• For the Peeps Tombstones- Cut a piece of DSP 4" X 5-1/4".  On the 4" side, score at 5/8" and 1-1/4".  Fold on scorelines and use pieces of Washi Tape at the sides to form a pocket.
• Stamp and color the image.  Glue sections of a Spider Web Doily at the sides.  Cut with largest Deco Label Framelit.  Adhere to the back of the pocket.
