Floating Beveled Windowpanes and UStamp Scavenger Hunt!

There are several fun things to share in todays post.  The designers on UStamp are participating in a scavenger hunt for current members.  Members visit participating designer's sites and collect key words.  Those key words form two sentences.  There are prizes for the first ones who submit the correct sentences.  So... somewhere in this post I will sneak in a key word for members to find.  If you are not a member you can find information here to join.

Ever have a project in your mind and wonder if it will work?  I have been toying with a way to make the cute little clear windowpanes float in an open area.  Well, I am happy to report this is one idea that worked just as I had hoped.
The window pane is suspended in the cut-out square by the ribbon!  In the above photo, the dark green behind the windowpane that you see is the inside of the card showing through.
Here I have it held up so you can see through the open area.

To make this I dry embossed the striped DSP and lightly sanded the raised areas to distress it a bit.   I then punched a 1-1/4 square in the bottom right corner.  This is layered on Rose Red card stock and the Always Artichoke card base.  I aligned the layers and punched the squares so they all line up.

Before adhering the layers, I threaded ribbon through a 1" X 1" windowpane (secured with brads) and tucked the opposite ends under the middle layer.  I used mini glue dots to adhere the flower paper behind the window pane.

Here is the inside of the card.  The message is hidden (the key word is "Friends!!") behind the window pane until you open it!  Love it when an idea works out beautifully!
