Lovely Thinking of You

Two of the new In-Colors that are pretty together are Powder Pink and Tranquil Tide.   Lovely for a soft and serene "Thinking of You" card.

I enjoyed playing around with the watercolor-like graphics of the Whole Lot of Lovely DSP - dots, lines and florals.

Love You to Pieces

I reorganized my sewing room (wow was it in need of that!) and now I will hopfully be sewing a bit more.   Having everything organized is very motivational.  

As I was working I had to stop and look at my collection of retired Stampin' Up fabrics.  They are so pretty!  I wanted to make something right away but I made myself finish all the organizing first-- work before play:)  

My first little project was a potholder for my sweet sister-in-law's birthday using the Stampin' Up Springtime Vintage fabric.  I sent it with a quilt card I made a while back- I have been waiting for the perfect person to send it to!   

Christmas of 2013 I gave her a basket made with this same fabric.  It has only taken me three and a half years to make the matching potholder!

That basket has been one of my most pinned projects.  (Details about the basket can be found HERE.)

This has been a post with all retired things but I am patting myself on the back for getting organizing done and am happy to rekindle a love of sewing!

Color Theory Grad Card

Dr Seuss books are a staple at our house...well worn and loved.  At one time I had the entire book of Dr Seuss ABCs memorized because I read it so many times to the kids.!  Oh, the Places You'll Go was another favorite.  That is why I have a special fondness for this stamp set for graduation cards.  

I coupled the set with the new Color Theory Designer Series Paper Stack for a clean and simple card.  Do you see the blue ombre' for the globe?  I wish there were bunches and bunches of that particular paper in the stack!  It is lovely for sky, water, and snow scenes.  The little strip of paper at the bottom and on the left are from that stack as well.  All the little bits and pieces of it are just as cool as the big ones!

Happy Balloons

Two birthday cards today with the same layout.  They both use the Nailed It stamp set.

The card below I created awhile ago when prepping for the Nailed It edition of the Stamp Review Crew but did not post it as the paper was already sold out.  I decided to post is now so I would be able to record the dimensions and not forget them.  It often takes me a few tries to get a layout I am happy with.  Aggravating if I forget to write down my measurements before I send it to someone!

Measurements:
Upper left panel:  1-3/4" X 2-1/2",  layer: 1-1/4" x 2-1/4"
Lower left panel:  1-3/4" X 2-3/8"
Right panel: 2" X 5"

Stamp Review Crew: Thoughtful Banners Edition

It's the third Monday of the month so it is time for another Stamp Review Crew blog hop!   This session is focusing on the incredibly versatile sentiment set Thoughtful Banners.

The release of the 2017-2018 annual Stampin' Up catalog is near (June 1) and one of the nifty perks of being a demonstrator is being able to preorder select items before the release date.  My project combines Thoughtful Banners (which is carrying over to the new catalog) with some preorder goodies.

I have "Happy Mother's Day" on my card but with all the words that are in the Thoughtful Banners set you could make this for almost any occasion.  Thoughtful Banners is a photopolymer set so the stamps can be bent to fit the space on the banner.

 

Also I used the flowers from the new set Wood Words.   The layout could just as easily be made into a masculine card by changing the center stamp and colors.  This card is monochromatic and highlights the lovely new In-Color Berry Burst.  The color variation of the four banners is created by stamping on the Color Theory Designer Series Paper that looks like a paint chip.  So pretty when layered on the ombre paper!

Stamp Review Crew: Nailed It Edition

Welcome to the latest Stamp Review Crew Blog Hop!  Our international crew highlights one stamp set on each blog hop which are the first and third Mondays of the month.   A great way to get many ideas for using a stamp set!

This time we are using the set Nailed It.  The tools and sentiments are super for masculine cards.  I however chose the little itty bitty smile stamp as the focus for my project.  By punching the tiny smiles stamped on bright colors with the 1/4" circle punch I got M&M's!  Milk chocolate M&M's are my favorite so I mounted the "candies" on a Chocolate Chip piece of cardstock.

The sentiment was done by selectively inking up just a few letters or words with a marker.   For example "so" is from the stamp that says "sorry".  By looking at all the words in a stamp set you often can come up with new combinations or words--a great way to stretch the usefulness of a set!

To keep the circle theme going I used Whisper White Mini Pompom Trim and colored it with markers.

Stamp Review Crew: Cool Treats Edition

Welcome to the Stamp Review Crew Blog Hop!  The "Crew" is an international group of Stampin' Up demonstrators.  We have regular blog hops on the first and third Mondays of the month and feature a different stamp set each time.  It is a great way to gets lots of ideas for a set -- the variety and creativity always amazes me.  I learn something new every time from other crew members!

This time we are featuring the fun Cool Treats set.  This set is so cool it has its own suite of products that coordinate!  I used the Tasty Treats Speciality Designer Series Paper and the Sprinkles Embellishments for a birthday gift bag and card.

The gift bag is made with the Gift Bag punch board and is adapted to fit full size cards.  (I used a tutorial by Diane Dimich.)

The shaker element can be detached from the bag as a little keepsake.

I was starting to run out of time before the party so I took advantage of the speciality DSP.  Several of the designs have a cool raised glossy elements and make a quick card look extra special.

I put a few cards in that I had made earlier and was ready to go!
