Stamp Review Crew: Bonanza Buddies Edition

Hello, hello!  The Stamp Review Crew has a new blog hop ready for you!

This session we have chosen the Bonanza Buddies set - so cute!!!

May and June are big birthday months in our family so I am working ahead on building my birthday card collection.

I wanted the letters to really stand out so I cut eight of each letter from Burmuda Bay cardstock and stacked them together.

The Stamparatus helped to get the stamps lined up on the balloon

The little koala is so silly and fun!

So glad you have stopped by today!  Please click on the links below to see more ideas for the Bonanza Buddies stamp set!

Stitching On Patterned Paper Tutorial

Hello stamping friends!  I am excited to share a video tutorial that I made for Splitcoast Stampers today.   It has ideas and tips for using patterned paper as background for hand stitching.

It is based on several cards that I made last fall.  (I am looking longingly at the hydrangeas in the background of the picture... we have just a few things starting to emerge and turn green.  Really ready for some pretty flowers to perk things up!)
You can see close ups of each of the cards on the original post HERE.

I think a little bit of stitching adds  a very special touch to a card.  I hope you have a chance to try it!

You can also see the written tutorial on the Splitcoast Stampers website by clicking HERE.

Stamp Review Crew: 2020 Sale-A-Bration

Welcome!  The "Crew" is changing it up a bit for this blog hop.  Normally we all use the same stamp set but this time we are using the pretty products available during Sale-A-Bration.

For more stamping inspiration click here to see all past archived hops!

One of the very popular things this Sale-A-Bration has been the impressionist-inspired Lily Pad collection.  I have always loved Impressionist paintings and have been thrilled when I have had the opportunity to see exhibits in real life.  The colors are so vibrant and the layers of paint are incredibly textured.

The colors of the Lily Impressions paper really are beautiful and IRL are even more
vibrant than a photo can capture.

On a recent shopping trip I purchased something that the sales person wrapped in the prettiest bluish-green tissue paper.  It sure looked like Stampin' Up's In-Color Pretty Peacock.   I thought it would be fun to incorporate the tissue paper in my projects.

The main flower has Flirty Flamingo ink sponged in the central area to add depth.

To make the tear drop accent on the card, I stacked about twenty layers of the green tissue paper on top of a piece of cardstock,  then put the die from the Lily Pad Dies on top.  When it was run through the Big Shot it compacted all the layers.  I then painted it with Elmer's glue thinned with water and let it dry overnight.

I love how thick and textured the compressed tissue paper turned out!

I also made several lily pads using the same
tissue paper/cardstock sandwich but with only three layers of tissue paper.

These were not as tightly compressed and so they crinkled more when the glue was added
giving a really cool surface to the lily pads.

Thanks a bundle for stopping by!  Please click on the links below to continue with the blog hop.

Stamp Review Crew: So Many Stars

Welcome to the So Many Stars edition blog hop presented by the Stamp Review Crew!   I do hope everyone had a lovely weekend... here in the US we enjoyed a long Thanksgiving holiday weekend.  So much to be grateful for!

So Many Stars is a beautiful and delicate Christmas stamp set... especially when combined with the coordinating die set.

I thought it would be fun to experiment with a non-holiday card style to stretch the use of this gorgeous set beyond the traditional season.  In fact I jumped ahead to spring by using the Country Club Designer Series paper.   This fun paper will be available in January in the upcoming Mini Catalog.

The front "Happy Birthday" is inked with the coordinating colored Stampin' Write Markers and adhered to a Clear Window Sheet.  This lets the fun paper peek through!

I used Stampin' Blends to color in one of the line drawings from the DSP.   Coloring with the Blends is one of my very favorite techniques and I was happy to see how well they worked on the Designer Series paper.  One tip:  Use a very light touch and go fairly quickly so the juicy markers do not soak into the paper too much.

For the inside I used the "Hoping all your CHRISTMAS WISHES come true" sentiment.  By using Stampin' Write Markers I was able to easily omit a word making it into a birthday greeting.

Stamp Review Crew: Dino Days

Welcome to a very fun blog hop presented by the Stamp Review Crew!  We have the adorable little dinosaurs of the Dino Days stamp set making their way around the world with our international group of Stampin' Up demonstrators.

As always we have our blogs permanently linked so you can easily jump from blog to blog.  And we have a super website that archives all of our past blog hops!

 https://stampreviewcrew.blogspot.com/2019/09/DD.html

The base is 5-1/2" X 11",  scored at 4-1/4", 7" and 9-3/4".
I added a 3-1/2" X 4-3/4" kick stand scored at 3/4" on the back to help it stand.

Stamping on Designer Series Paper and a tiny row of braid adds a bit of interest on a mostly monochromatic card.

Fluffing out the tassels on the Woven Thread Trim makes some vegetation for the dino to hide in!

So very glad you chose to stop by!  Please click on the buttons below to continue on to more delightful Dino Days projects!

Stamp Review Crew: Stitched All Around

Happy Labor Day!  Hope you are having a relaxing day with family and friends.  Many Stamp Review Crew members are taking a break this session but we have a mini blog hop for the stamp set Stitched All Around.   The hop is short and sweet but big on fun ideas!

We have a wonderful website with an archive of past hops that are chock full of inspiration.  You can access it by clicking on the banner below.
 https://stampreviewcrew.blogspot.com/2019/09/SAA.html

Many of my blog followers know that I am also a quilter/ sewing enthusiast so this set is right up my alley.  It inspired me to add some hand stitching.  Very relaxing to do!
Tip: Click on the photos to enlarge to see the detail!

I used the patterns on the DSP to guide the placement of the stitching.

Perfect for a country wedding!
Here I used the matching dies to emboss the background and die cut the stamped image.

Thanks so much for joining us for this little hop!  Please click on the buttons below to continue on:
